Dental Sealants

Until your son or daughter has mastered proper tooth-brushing techniques, their back teeth are at a higher risk of decay. The grooved and pitted surfaces can harbor food debris that attracts cavity-causing bacteria. For protection, we often recommend placing dental sealants over these teeth. Sealants are thin layers of resin that we can apply on the back teeth’s chewing surfaces within minutes, where they can protect against harmful bacteria for as long as a decade.

Pulp Therapy

If your child is complaining of a constant toothache, they might be dealing with a cavity or infection deep inside of the tooth. If this is the case, we’ll have to remove the damaged tissue with pulp therapy. Essentially a version of root canal treatment but for kids, pulp therapy targets the infection at its source, prevents it from worsening, and relieves pain. We’ll take extra care to leave as much healthy tissue intact as possible so as not to impact the tooth’s development.

Athletic Mouthguards

The athletic mouthguards sold at sporting goods stores rarely fit as well as the customized appliances that we can provide here in our dental office. As a result, your child is less likely to wear them during their games and practices, which could put their smile at risk for injury. Our mouthguards, on the other hand, are so comfortable that they shouldn’t distract your child from giving it their all on the field, court, or track – and their teeth are well-protected, too.
